Jyri Engeström - new, great speaker at the Realtime Conference
As we wrote about yesterday, Disruptive Media is at the last minute bringing in another famous, international name to speak at the Realtime Conference on Tuesday.
Web entrepreneur and sociologist Jyri Engeström, one of the the world's foremost speakers on social objects and how we operate socially on the Internet, will enter stage for the grand final. He is to give a speech about "The Real Time Era is Here. Now What?" which hopefully will lead to tons of interesting discussions at the mingle afterwards!
Jyri Engeström is also co-founder of the micro-blog service Jaiku, which was launched in 2007 (just before twitter) and bought by Google in July 2008. Shortly afterwards Jyri became product manager at Google’s headquarters in San Francisco with responsibility over, among other things, Google’s social infrastructure.
Google has meanwhile suspended the work on Jaiku and open source code, thus effectively withdrawing from the nowadays essential realtime sector in favor of particular Twitter and Facebook.
This week however, it became clear that Jyri is suddenly leaving Google, something we’ll perhaps hear more about during his appearance on Tuesday’s conference.
See you there!
